Update
Ack — I mistyped the date on this page! The meetup will be Thursday, April 27th (not Wednesday as this originally said). Hopefully that still works for anyone planning to come…
Later this month, I’m speaking at the MySQL Users Conference in Santa Clara, and I’ll be in town the whole week.
I suspect there’s a good number of Django users living in the Bay Area (ha), and I’d like to meet as many of them as I can. Therefore, I propose that y’all let me buy you dinner. The details:
- When: Thursday, April 27th, at 7:00 pm
- Where: Jing Jing restaurant in Palo Alto
(No, I didn’t choose the restaurant so I can make “Djing-Djing” jokes; I grew up in the area and it’s one of my favorites.)
If you can make it, leave a note in the comments or let me know at jacob@jacobian.org. I hope I’ll get to meet a lot of you there!

Hey Jacob,
I'll be there IF it's on Thursday, April 27 (as mentioned in your mail to the django-users list). If it's on Wednesday (as mentioned on this page), I won't be able to make it. You might want to post the announcement to the "BayPiggies" list, too. Django's frequently mentioned at our Piggies meetings and I suspect there are a few Django users that monitor their list:

I'm confused. There's no Thursday, April 28th. I'd like to come.

Actually, if you'd like to do a talk on Django for BayPiggies, we may be able to swing a non-scheduled meeting. I can host it at IronPort.

Apparently I, too, am confused -- Thursday is the 27th :)
Thanks for the invite - see you there.
Thanx for the invitation.
I'm new to django. I look forward to meet other users and learn more about it.
Hi Jacob!
I don't think I have too much going on that night (though this week is obviously pretty crazy with the MySQL UC and all). I'll find you at the UC and we'll chat. More than likely, I'll be able to come, granted a find a ride ;)
Cheers, and talk to you soon!
Jay
Jacob,
Thanks very much for organizing and paying for the dinner. It was a pleasure meeting you and the other guys that showed up. I enjoyed the lively conversations.
Best regards,
