Not sure about the quality of the benchmarks, but I'd nevertheless still like to see how Django stacks up here. Not very well I'd imagine, but Django's always been an 80% ORM anyway, so 80% of the performance would be just *fine* with me.

blog gnist org - Holliday cracking

Bookmarked August 16th, 2007 at 3:34 p.m.

Really interesting analysis of a cracked Linux box. We're lucky that these script kiddies always seem to make some stupid mistakes (in this case not cleaning up .bash_history); a good cracker probably wouldn't be detected for months.

AuditTrail - Django Code - Trac

Bookmarked August 14th, 2007 at 9:27 p.m.

Marty Alchin's amazingly cool "audit trail" for Django models. Essentially creates *Audit models that track all changes to the underlying model. Unbelievably slick; this should make the start of a *very* nice third-party app.

You know, in every branch of journalism I know of faking sources is a fireable offense. Not tech journalism, of course. Why the hell Gruber seems to be the only one taking these douchebag tech reporters to account baffles the hell out of me.
